I-Star Academy are in the process of organising our first ever Cheer and Dance Inter-Club Competition. The competition will be held in Shoreham Academy Sports Hall on 17th July 2010. The competition will start 10am and finish at roughly 3.30pm. Parents and spectators are encouraged to come along for support!

Below you will find the list of divisions within the competition. Each division will cost £3.50 to enter. The competition will be judged using score sheets used by The British Cheerleading Association. Each routine must be between 1 and 1½ minutes in length. Age will not be taken into consideration for this competition unless this becomes necessary due to amount of applicants. Each 1st place routine in each division will receive a gold medal.

Performances from Elite teams, cheerleaders and I-Star gymnasts will occur throughout the day. Refreshments will be available along with a Uniform/Merchandise stall. There will be an entrance fee for spectators of £2 for adults and £1 for concessions. Deadline for payment and entry of competition is 14th July 2010. Please give money and entry to your coach or send to 39 Greenacres, Shoreham by sea.

Pom Dance – 2 or more dancers needed. This will involve the use of pom pom’s. You can practice with I-Star pom’s at the Wednesday dance class.

Prop Dance – 2 or more dancers needed. This will involve the use of any prop’s. This can include, canes, hats, gym apparatus, etc.

Freestyle Dance – 2 or more dancers needed. This includes any type of dance that has not been mentioned above, hip-hop, street, lyrical, etc.

Dance Solo – 1 person only. This can be any style of dance.

Stunt Group – 5 people in a group. For this division you care only allowed a maximum of 3 Elite cheerleaders in your group. Anyone is able to compete in this section but must come to Monday class to practice under Helen’s guidance and supervision.
